Narrowband Conversions

Several of the surplus Delta FM radios are purely narrowbanded.  This simply means that the frequency range of the VCO needs to be set my placing 'plugs' or straps within the VCO assembly proper. Unlike the wideband radios whose VCO ranges are controlled by the M/P, these radios are basically fix tuned to a given frequency range.

Also, these radios are equipped with rather sharp helical filters in the front end to eliminate most causes of interferences and intermod.

The current M/P software will let the user convert the Delta 10 Meter, Delta 6 Meter and the Delta 2 Meter Narrowband radios.  If you are converting one, be sure to set the proper 'plugs' for the amateur band of interest.

DISCLAIMER - - If you follow the steps outlined herein, you do so at your own risk. I cannot, nor will not, be responsible for any possible damage to radio equipment, personal property, to yourself or to others caused by modifications that you may make to the radio as a result of your reading this.

The M/P controls TRANSMITTING and receiving on many frequencies, suitable for a wide range of HF, VHF and UHF needs. In the USA, TRANSMIT operation requires a license issued by the FCC  for the class of operation intended.  Amateur radio licensees must maintain strict control over their equipment, preventing unlicensed operation within or outside of the amateur bands.
